Motherhood is personal. What you share with Forpartum stays that way. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
Internal note (remove before publishing): Structured draft for attorney review, not legal advice. Privacy law varies by state and country (CCPA/CPRA, GDPR, Washington My Health My Data, and others), and a maternal health platform handles data those laws treat as sensitive. Confirm every claim below matches your actual technical setup before publishing.
This Privacy Policy explains how Forpartum LLC ("Forpartum," "we," "us," or "our"), handles personal information when you use the Forpartum mobile application, visit forpartum.com, purchase a product, join an email list, contact us, or use another service that links to this Policy (together, the "Services").
Forpartum is designed around data minimization. We do not sell personal information, use it for targeted advertising, or ask mothers to build long-term logs of symptoms, moods, sleep, cycles, pregnancy, or other intimate experiences. Some features may briefly process information you choose during a session so the app can respond in the moment. As described below, those session responses are designed not to become a long-term personal tracking record.
Forpartum provides educational and wellness support. It is not a healthcare provider, medical record system, emergency service, or substitute for professional medical or mental-health care.
We do not design the Services to create ongoing logs of symptoms, moods, sleep, cycles, pregnancy, fertility, or location. We do not request medical records or connect to electronic health records. We do not use third-party advertising trackers to build advertising profiles.
ENT is a recommendation system, not a medical diagnosis or clinical decision tool. It uses the responses you choose to provide during a session to select content and may explain why an option was offered or intentionally not offered. Forpartum's intended design is for these responses to remain session-based rather than become a history of your maternal or emotional state.
If a response suggests an immediate safety concern, the Service may display crisis or emergency resources or encourage you to contact a trusted person or qualified professional. Unless you deliberately contact us or use a separately disclosed human-support feature, the app does not promise that a person is monitoring your responses. Do not use the Services for emergencies. In the United States, call 911 for an emergency or call or text 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
We disclose personal information only as needed for the purposes described in this Policy:
We do not sell or rent personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising or allow third parties to use session responses for their own advertising.
The website may use cookies or similar technologies that are necessary for core functions, including security, account access, shopping-cart functions, and remembering choices. If optional analytics or other non-essential technologies are used, we will provide any notice and consent choices required by law. You can also control cookies through your browser, although blocking necessary cookies may prevent parts of the website from working.
Marketing email is optional. You can unsubscribe through the link in an email or contact us at contact@forpartum.com. We may still send non-marketing messages that are necessary for your account, purchases, security, or requested support.
We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including to provide the Services, meet legal and accounting requirements, resolve disputes, and protect the Services. Retention depends on the type of information:
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of your personal information; to object to or restrict certain uses; to withdraw consent; or to appeal a decision about a privacy request. You may also unsubscribe from marketing and control optional cookies where available.
To make a request, email contact@forpartum.com. We may need to verify your identity before completing the request. An authorized agent may submit a request where permitted by law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.
Some privacy laws define consumer health information broadly enough to include information that may reveal a person's physical or mental health status, pregnancy or postpartum status, or use of health-related services. Where such laws apply, we will request any consent required before collecting or disclosing that information, limit its use to the purpose disclosed, and honor applicable rights to access, withdraw consent, or delete it. We do not sell consumer health information.
If California privacy law applies to Forpartum and your information, you may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, and receive information in a portable format, and to opt out of sale or sharing. Forpartum does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes that require a right to limit under California law.
Where applicable, our legal bases include performing a contract with you; your consent; compliance with law; and our legitimate interests in operating, securing, supporting, and improving the Services, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights. You may have rights of access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection, portability, withdrawal of consent, and complaint to your local data-protection authority.
The Services are intended for adults and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it as appropriate. Content about a child that an adult voluntarily includes in a support message will be handled as part of that communication.
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. These may include encryption in transit, access controls, data minimization, and service providers selected for appropriate security practices. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Forpartum is based in the United States, and our providers may process information in the United States or other countries. When applicable law requires safeguards for an international transfer, we use an approved legal mechanism or another lawful basis and provide additional information on request.
Forpartum is generally not a healthcare provider or health plan covered by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and information you provide directly to Forpartum may not be protected by HIPAA. Other federal or state privacy and breach-notification laws may still apply. If a covered breach occurs, we will provide notices required by applicable law.
We may update this Policy as the Services or law changes. We will post the revised Policy with a new "Last updated" date and provide additional notice when required. If a change materially affects how we use information previously collected, we will seek consent where required.
